Location — Home & Current
Your agent can know two locations for you, so tasks like a daily news briefing can be about where you actually are — not a hardcoded city.
- Home — your durable base (city/region). You set it yourself and it only changes when you change it.
- Current — where you are right now. The platform updates this automatically whenever you sign in to the portal, based on your network connection. It's approximate (city-level), and it only rewrites when the detected city actually changes.
Where in the product
Both live in your agent's USER profile (Admin → Settings → Persona → USER), in a "Location" section. Home is a normal line you edit. Current sits between two auto:current-location markers — the platform owns everything between those markers; don't hand-edit that block (your edits would be overwritten on your next sign-in).
How to use it in Tasks
Task instructions can simply refer to your location instead of naming a city — for example: "Weather for my current location (see USER profile § Location; fall back to Home)" or "Add a local-news section when my current location differs from Home." The agent reads your profile at the start of every run, so tasks follow you automatically when you travel.
Troubleshooting
- Wrong city shown? VPNs, hotel networks, and mobile carriers can make your connection appear somewhere you aren't. It fixes itself the next time you open the portal from a normal connection — the "since <date>" stamp shows when it last changed.
- Current looks stale? It only updates when you visit the portal. If you've been away without signing in, Current still shows your last sign-in city; tasks that matter fall back to Home when in doubt, and you can always just tell your agent where you are in chat.
- Want to change Home? Edit the Home line on the USER persona page — takes effect from your agent's next session.
